I’m afraid Basil has a raised temperature and is severely dehydrated. We are currently waiting for the Ambulance to arrive to take the big lad to hospital, so normal service on the blog, including a description of Spoleto, will have to wait until tomorrow or even later depending whether we have to be put up in a hotel and whether or not we have access to the internet.

In summary we were driving into Spoleto when I notice Basil was noticeably down on power and the temperature gauge was a little higher than normal. We pulled into our parking space and I had a look under the bonnet to find that Basil’s coolant tank was completely empty.

We still decided to explore Spoleto from where Basil was parked, of which more another day, but upon our return I called our breakdown insurance company in the UK and we are currently awaiting for an Italian breakdown service to arrive.
