A Life in the Slow Lane

Lazy, lazy days of summer

A short post today, because we have essentially done nothing. Team Basil, anticipating the 1200 miles of travelling to come in the next week, decided to have a quiet one. Apart from spending time on the dog beach* and a brief swim in the decidedly chilly Adriatic, we have spent the day reading and planning our journey home.

The current plan is a stop in Italy, then through the Dolomites and Alps to Germany and a few stops in Germany on our way to a final two nights somewhere in northern France, where we have to get the dogs wormed at a vet so they will be allowed back into England on their pet passports.

* One of the many good things about Camping Krk is that it is very dog friendly. The dogs are welcome in the restaurant, there are dog bathing facilities (Mable does not think this is a good feature however) and there is a stony beach dedicated to dogs, complete with loungers and sunshades.

One final thing – having written about Camping Krk for the last few days I have just realised if you say it quickly it sounds a lot like the the original captain of the Starship Enterprise!!
